Patient Demographic Information
Ordering Office and Provider Information
Test(s) Ordered
Detected pathogens
Any/All pathogens that were detected in the patient specimen above the threshold will be listed here. Precise colony counts for each pathogen will also be listed.
Comments
Some reports will include comments from the Lab Director (if any)
Antibiotic Sensitivity Testing (AST) Results
For all gram negative and gram positive bacterial pathogens detected, Real Diagnostics will perform AST testing on the specific antibiotics appropriate for the detected pathogens. Antibiotics that were sensitive (demonstrative to be effective against the bacteria) will be marked “S”. Antibiotics that were found to be resistant (not effective) to the bacteria will be marked “R”. Antibiotics that were found to be intermediate (incomplete effectiveness) will be marked “I”.
If more than one gram negative/gram positive bacteria was detected, the antibiotics found to be effective (“S”) against BOTH will be listed in bold at the top of the list.
Full Test Panel
All pathogens tested are listed here. Any pathogens that were detected are highlighted in bold with the precise colony counts listed in red.

Antibiotic Sensitivity Testing (AST) Results
For all aerobic bacterial pathogens detected, Real Diagnostics will perform AST testing on the specific antibiotics appropriate for the detected pathogens.

Detected pathogens
This section will list the specific pathogens ordered for this test, and whether they were detected (“Positive”) or not detected (“Negative”).

Antibiotic Sensitivity Testing (AST) Results
AST will only be performed for positive Strep A results, if ordered.
